Nomadic Welcomes

About half an hour into a ride from Moron to Khatgal in Northern Mongolia, our minivan was suddenly in need of immediate repairs. Two friends and I (one of whom was a Mongolian who claimed to have been known as “Batman” when he lived in Utah years ago) wandered over to the nearest ger to have a look around. As usual, we were welcomed with tea and all sorts of assorted dairy products (goat yogurt, anyone?) by the family that lived inside.

They were also kind enough, as we were leaving, to pose for a portrait. I couldn’t figure out how to get them a copy of the photos, so instead I’m putting them here for the world at large.
