New Vagabundo Magazine!

After a long and adventure filled hiatus, everybody’s favorite Adventure Travel magazine Vagabundo is back with a new issue on Jan 29!

New Vagabundo out Jan 29th!

I’ve been writing occasionally as a contributor for  Vagabundo, and  Editor @BrendanVanSon has offered  three Lifetime Subscriptions of the magazine to give away!

@VagabundoTravel is all about Independent Adventure Travel, so I want to hear about your biggest dreams of adventure for 2014 and beyond. If you were to one day appear in the illustrious pages of Vagabundo, what kind of story would you be writing?

For me it would have to be heli-skiing. Kyrgyzstan is covered by beautiful mountains, which even at the best of times are nearly inaccessible on foot due to distance from anything resembling a road. In winter, though, real men take to the skies in helicopters that leave them on mountainside deep in the backcountry to ski their way down.  I’m a long way from there, having just hit the kiddy slopes for the first time a few weeks ago. Give it a few years, though, and maybe I’ll be on that helicopter ride!

So, that’s my adventure goal. What about you?

Leave a comment below telling me about your adventures to enter to win a lifetime subscription, and then follow @VagabundoTravel to read more! I’ll choose 3 winners on January 29th when the new issue comes out. If you just can’t wait and want to make sure you get every issue, you can also head over now to Vagabundo Magazine to buy a subscription.

The current issue is out, so head over to the Vagabundo website to check it out!

I really want to climb a tepui in Venezuela and spend a week camping and exploring on top. It would be awesome to explore such an isolated ecosystem and check out the amazing view from the top. I haven’t got a clue when I’ll get around to it, but it’s on my list!

That sounds like an incredible adventure. When I eventually make it to South America, I’ll have to make sure to keep that one in mind!

Anything “nearly inaccessible on foot due to distance from anything resembling a road” sounds like a piece of untouched heaven! Damn. As to the skiing, I’m also a bit of a newborn when it comes to that. Done it twice (two days in a row), but the first doesn’t really count as I spent most of it eating snow and chopping wood.

Already subscribed to Vagabundo Magazine, and can’t wait for my first issue.

Nice meeting you Stephen, and looking forward to your upcoming posts.

Most of the best places in my life start with that phrase, I think. I’m at the same level of skiing, though, so perhaps we should both approach this adventure carefully.

I lived in China for a bit, so I’m more of a “JiaYou!” kind of guy. 加油!

For me it would be all about couchsurfing in Iran. Every single person who’s been there was so enthusiastic. They all named it the best country they’ve ever been to. I would love to experience that myself!

I’ve heard the same from so many people. Iran isn’t so far from the Netherlands, certainly closer than N. Korea. You should go check it out!

But you should not go check it out my first born!!
