A capital idea!

Vientiane, the capitol of Laos.

Laotian "Arc de Triomphe"

Patuxay, often called the "Vertical Runway" because it was built with money donated by the US to build a new airport.

You like that framing, dont you?

Pha That Luang, the most important Buddhist stupa in Laos.

That one on the nose is a traditional Laotian boogey.

The sticky rice on the dragon's face is a traditional offering in Laotian Buddhist temples.

Wat Si Saket, home of a thousand Buddhas.

Rustic? Or dirty?

Smaller stupas ringing Wat Si Saket.

Look at those lead lines!

It’s an amazing place… while most people go to Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, they miss out on Laos.
One day I’d love to travel down on the Mekong – from the Golden Triangle area to Saigon in Vietnam…

I would love to go back, quite honestly. I was so new to traveling then, I made a beeline straight down the Lonely Planet trail through the country and didn’t venture out to explore at all!
