At every temple, yak butter candles burn endlessly and release this strong (cloying) aroma into the air.
At every restaurant, tea mixed with yak butter can be had for a pittance. What better to go with your yak burger or yak dumplings? At the best places, you can even finish off with a bit of yak’s milk ice cream.

I remember a few places in Lhasa and Chengdu carried them, but don’t recall having seen them widely for sell in many places.
